AllNet: using Social Connections to Inform Traffic Prioritization and Resource Allocation
نویسنده
چکیده
AllNet is a new networking protocol designed to provide communication utilizing all available means, including Internet and cellular communications, but when these are not available, also ad-hoc networking and delay-tolerant networking. These latter mechanisms are best for low-bandwidth communications. Effective support of low-bandwidth networking needs message prioritization, which can benefit by knowing whether messages are being sent on behalf of someone to whom the owner of the mobile device is socially connected. By keeping track of the social network of each of the friends of the owner of the mobile device, the device can devote its resources to supporting better quality communication among people its owner cares about, and fewer resources to communication among people its owner doesn’t know. AllNet generalizes this notion by anonymously keeping track of friends, friends of friends, friends of friends of friends, and so on. Doing this while using only limited communication and storage is the challenge addressed by the AllNet social network connectivity algorithm described and evaluated in this paper. Connections, Communication and Collaboration in Healthcare’s Complex Adaptive Systems; Comment on “Using Complexity and Network Concepts to Inform Healthcare Knowledge Translation”
A more sophisticated understanding of the unpredictable, disorderly and unstable aspects of healthcare organisations is developing in the knowledge translation (KT) literature. In an article published in this journal, Kitson et al introduced a new model for KT in healthcare based on complexity theory. The Knowledge Translation Complexity Network Model (KTCNM) provides a fresh perspective by mak...

The main objective of the present study was to prioritize the allocation of water resources of Chahnimeh reservoirs from economic, social, and environmental perspectives in 2015-2016 season using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity of an ideal solution (FTOPSIS) as the branches of fuzzy multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) models. Abstract The General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a new bearer service for GSM that greatly simplifies wireless access to packet data networks, such as the Internet, corporate LANs or to mobile portals. It applies a ...
متن کاملHybrid Multiple Access for Uplink OFDMA System
We propose a hybrid multiple access (HMA) for uplink orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, which combines two resource sharing schemes: a scheduling-based resource allocation (SBRA) scheme and a contentionbased resource allocation (CBRA) scheme. The SBRA scheme is appropriate for non-real time high data rate traffic, and, CBRA is appropriate for near-real time low/mediu...
متن کاملTraffic Restoration Algorithms in Communication Networks
E-commerce and mission-critical Internet services require a maximum of availability of the network and a minimum of network outage times. Due to the increasing demands to carry mission critical traffic, realtime traffic, and other high priority traffic over the Internet network survivability represents a requirement for the future networks. In case of failure a large number of connections would...
